After losing 9th toss out of 10, Ruturaj Gaikwad says he's 'not sure what to do' | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: For the new Super Kings of Chennai skipper Ruturaj Gaikwadwinning sweepstakes turns out to be a real nightmare.
On Wednesday, Ruturaj lost his ninth toss in 10 matches. Indian Premier League season.
And this time it was advantageous for Punjab Kings as they exploited the toss result and the conditions at Chepauk to perfection to hand CSK a seven-wicket hammering in their own den.
Amid a series of losing tosses, Gaikwad admitted that he was under pressure when he went out for tosses and revealed that he also practices them before matches.
“I practiced the throws (during training), it's not going well in the match, I don't know what to do. To be honest, I'm under pressure when I go to the middle (for the toss) , not at the match,” Ruturaj said during the post-match presentation.
While CSK managed just 162 after being put into bat, Punjab Kings chased down the target with 13 balls to spare.
Despite a decent start, CSK found themselves in a shell amid regular falls of wickets, resulting in a below-par final score.
Ruturaj admitted that his team was short by around 50-60 runs and the dew factor also helped Punjab during their chase.
“Probably missing 50-60 runs, the pitch wasn't great when we were batting, it got better later. With the strike rule also, we were well short.
“Very difficult (defending 162 in dew). Even in the last match, we were quite surprised to win by such a margin. This is something we cannot control. We can bat slightly better in the early innings in the last 2 matches we tried our best to get 200-210 on this pitch it was difficult to get 180,” added Ruturaj.
With 5 wins and an equal number of defeats in 10 matches, defending champions CSK are at the fourth position in the points table.
The Punjab Kings, on the other hand, have 4 wins in 10 outings and are in 7th place.
