Barcelona working on two operations with FC Porto involving a defender and a young striker

According to the report by Joaquim Piera in SPORTBarcelona and FC Porto are currently in discussions regarding the sale of Mike Faye and a season-long loan deal for Vitor Roque.

It is important to mention that Deco has taken the initiative to catch up after the recent meeting with Hansi Flick in which they made plans for the team.

Working in harmony with the German coach, Deco began to leverage his professional network to tackle every task on his agenda and one of the main avenues Deco is exploring is that of FC Porto, a club that he knows well and where he acquired idol status.

Barcelona must sell Faye

The aforementioned outlet claims that Deco recently had a conference call with Porto president André Villas-Boas.

They discussed two main topics: Faye's potential transfer and Vitor Roque's season-long loan.

Deco and Flick even see potential in the Senegalese central defender considering him for a left-back position. Although they were hoping he would make his first-team debut, that didn't happen under Xavi.

Despite their interest in Faye, Barcelona have an excess of central defenders, necessitating the sale of some players.

Barcelona has an agreement with Faye's representatives: if an offer of at least 15 million euros arrives and the player is interested both sportingly and financially, the club will accept him.

However, Barça will retain a buyback option and a percentage of any profits from future sales. This is exactly what Barcelona and Porto are currently negotiating.

And Rock?

Deco believes Porto is a great place for players to develop, drawing on his own successful experience there and that belief extends to Roque.

Flick likes the Brazilian striker and believes he needs to improve his performances in the coming season. However, Roque's future may depend more on Financial Fair Play rules and whether Barcelona can fit him into their salary budget.

Roque's arrival in January was made possible thanks to an exception to the regulations following Gavi's long-term injury. This exception no longer applies. Similar to Faye, Deco sees Porto and Portuguese football as beneficial to Roque's growth.

Interesting way, Atletico Madrid also interested in Roque and could include him in a deal for a second loan from Joao Félix, favored by Joan Laporta and Hansi Flick.
