Big names missing as Australia reveal T20 World Cup squad

While Marsh has acted as interim captain of the Australian T20I team for much of the past 12 months, the T20 World Cup will be his first major tournament as skipper.

“It has been a huge privilege to play for my country and now an even greater honor to lead the team to a World Cup,” Marsh said.

“We've had some big success lately and I hope that continues in what looks like a wide-open tournament.”

Australia open their T20 World Cup campaign against Oman in Barbados on June 5, ahead of Group B matches against England, Namibia and Scotland.

Australian team: Mitchell Marsh (c), Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa

All teams are allowed to make changes to their squad until May 25, after which any changes will require approval from the ICC event technical committee.
