Before I write anything else, I would like to spend a moment offering my thoughts, condolences and immense sadness to the family and friends of Om Arvind. One of a kind, and we will all miss you.

Madrid fans count down the days until Champions League final in London against Borussia Dortmund – but there are still two La Liam matches to play even though he is already crowned champion. Andriy Lunin was back in goal, while Éder Militão had more minutes in central defense. Dani Ceballos and Arda Güler started in midfield, with Joselu Mato up front.

real Madrid had been playing with a sense of freedom since winning the league, even with all the turnover that happened every game. Despite an incredible early chance for the hosts through Alexander Sørloth, this match seemed to be no different. Arda Güler scored the opener for Los Blancos with another neat low finish to add to his growing collection. Joselu Mato extended the lead by heading Lucas Vázquez's cross past the goalkeeper. Sørloth grabbed one back with a header from close range – before Vázquez responded instantly to make it 3-1. Arda Güler closed out an eventful half with another goal, this time bringing the ball close to the goal before slotting past the keeper. Halftime, 4-1 for Real Madrid!

The second half was simply a disaster. Alexander Sørloth immediately nodded to put the hosts back in the game – and minutes later he really turned things around with a superb individual effort. Éder Militão did not perform particularly well on any of the goals. Before the hour mark, a hat-trick turned into four as Sørloth easily beat Andriy Lunin to complete a comeback and make it 4-4. Substitutions then came thick and fast as Madrid wanted nothing more than to win the match, and Rodrygo Goes almost scored a one-on-one opportunity, hitting the post ten minutes from time. Villarreal played well in the last ten minutes. Madrid would have no more chances to score and the match would end with 8 goals scored and a draw. Thoughts on the game?
