iNEW DELHI: The Indian cricket team launched its preparations new York for the next ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The mega-event is scheduled to be played in the United States and the West Indies from June 2.
The first group of Indian cricketers, including the captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Rahul Dravidarrived in New York a few days ago and started their training.
Jasprit Bumrah shared a few photos on his social media account, one showing the cricketers jogging and another of Bumrah at the training ground, highlighting the team's early efforts to get going in shape.

Suryakumar Yadav also shared some photos from their first workout sessions in New York.
The Men in Blue were placed in Group A alongside their arch rivals Pakistan, co-hosts USA, Ireland and Canada. They begin their World Cup campaign against Ireland in New York on June 5.
Before the main event, the Indian team is scheduled to play a warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1.

In the previous edition of the T20 World Cup in Australia, India were eliminated in the semi-final after losing to England by 10 wickets. England won the tournament by defeating Pakistan in the final.
India's only T20 World Cup victory came in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, when they beat Pakistan in the final in Johannesburg, South Africa in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
The current team is looking forward to repeating this success and bringing home the trophy once again.
