Jofra Archer to play for Virat Kohli-starrer RCB in IPL 2024? Pacer Trainings in Bangalore

England pacer Jofra Archer is in Bengaluru with his Sussex County side as he takes part in a pre-season camp for his county. He is training hard to be fit in time to play for England in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.

His presence in Bengaluru is linked to the possibility of him playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. He remained unsold in the auction and will not play for RCB in the next edition of the initial loading.

The reason for his arrival in Bengaluru is to attend a week-long camp with his county team to train with the team in much more favorable weather conditions. The England pacer is currently out due to his long-standing elbow injury.

Jofra Archer played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023

The same injury kept him out of the IPL 2022 for Mumbai Indians. He then played IPL 2023 for MI, but featured in just five matches, picking up just two wickets.

Apart from Sussex, even the Lancashire men’s and women’s teams train in Bangalore, according to media reports. They set up their base camp on Tuesday at the KSCA Alur facilities. The men’s and women’s teams will play practice matches against selected teams from Karnataka during their 10-day stay.

He played his last international match in March 2023 and has been away from the game since May 2023. Archer recently made his return to competitive cricket earlier this month, appearing in a Second Division County Championship match.
