LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka publicly expresses anger at KL Rahul after SRH's 10-wicket mauling, visuals send shockwaves

Lucknow Super Giants suffered a crushing defeat against Pat Cummins and Co. on Wednesday, which put them in a tough spot in the playoff race. It was a dismal performance from the LSG bowlers and their top batting order as Sunrisers Hyderabad crushed them at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

Sanjeev Goenka looked miffed after LSG's massive defeat against SRH.

Captain of the LSG KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first, but the decision backfired as they lost Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis early in the powerplay, which put pressure on Rahul, and he went into his shell once again. The LSG captain failed to recover under pressure and scored 29 runs from 33 balls. He looked sluggish throughout the innings as LSG scored just one boundary in the powerplay and managed 27 runs. In the meantime, Ayush Badoni (55*) and Nicolas Pooran (48*) helped them post a fighting total of 165/4 on the scoreboard.

However, the openers of SSR Travis head And Abhishek Sharma made fun of it and chased him down in just 9.4 overs. Head smashed 89*, and fellow left-hander Abhishek, who hit 75*, tore through the opposition attack to head home with 10.2 overs to spare at home in Uppal.

After the match, LSG owner Sanjeev Goenka was seen having a heated conversation with skipper Rahul at the ground. It didn't look good to see as Goenka looked miffed with the team's performance, and many suggested he should have waited until he got to the locker room or a meeting room to have this conversation instead of doing it in a public place.

'At a loss for words'

Head and Abhishek showed no mercy and smashed the LSG bowlers all around the park to chase down the target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs to write several records as the LSG players had an embarrassing night.

“I'm at a loss for words. We watched that knock on TV but it was unreal,” Lucknow captain KL Rahul said of Hyderabad's opening-match bludgeoning.

“Everything was hitting the middle of the bat, well done on their skill, they worked really hard on their six hits.”

However, it will be crucial for LSG to quickly overcome this humiliating defeat, as they are still in the playoff race and need to win their remaining two matches to make their case.
