Lucknow Super Giants And Kings of Punjab face off in game 11 of Indian Premier League 2024on Saturday March 30, at the famous Ekana Cricket Stadium, in Lucknow.

LSG has only played one match so far in the league. They traveled to Jaipur to face Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium last week. The Royals won the toss and elected to bat first in the afternoon match. Sanju Samson scored a brilliant half-century as the hosts posted 193/4 in their 20 overs.

In response, the Super Giants lost three wickets in their first four overs. In the eighth over, Deepak Hooda perished as LSG were reeling at 60/4. However, a partnership of 85 runs off 52 balls between skipper KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran brought them back into the chase. However, the Royals commendably kept their composure in the deathmatches and emerged victorious by 20 runs. Half centuries since Rahul and Pooran have been in vain.

Talking about Punjab Kings, the team won their first match of IPL 2024 by four wickets against Delhi Capitals at their new home in Chandigarh. A good bowling performance helped Shikhar Dhawan and Co. restrict the Capitals to 174/9. Sam Curran scored a half-century in the second innings, as Punjab won by four wickets with as many balls to spare.

After a good start, PBKS hit a roadblock when they clashed at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Faf du Plessis-led Bengaluru played well to keep Punjab at 176/6 in the first innings. Virat Kohli played a phenomenal innings to help the home team win with four wickets in the last over.

In the ongoing IPL 2024, both teams are heading into the next match on the back of defeats. Therefore, they will want to reverse their fortunes and bounce back strongly in the tournament.

Last year, LSG played its home matches on two types of surfaces in this stadium. One of them was a belter where hitters enjoyed their time in the middle. However, there was also a delivery that favored the spinners as the ball remained low and chasing scores proved quite difficult. The second type of pitch was right up the alley of then-mentor Gautam Gambhir.

Nicolas Pooran could be the hitter to watch in this game. In IPL 2023, he achieved a staggering strike rate of 172.95, his best for a particular season in the cash-rich league.
