OFFICIAL: Courtois tears meniscus in right knee

real Madrid Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’ return to the field was further delayed after suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee during training on Tuesday. The setback comes as Courtois was on the verge of recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an injury he suffered last summer.

Club sources informed Madrid management that Courtois left training in tears following the fresh injury. Although the ACL injury required surgery, it is important to note that this meniscus tear is in the opposite knee.

Recovery time for the torn meniscus is estimated at around two months, effectively ruling Courtois out for the remainder of the season. A decision on possible surgery to repair the meniscus will be made soon in consultation with the team doctors.

Despite this latest setback, reports indicate the injury is not career-threatening and Courtois is expected to be back in time for pre-season training.
