Former Indian cricket team player Murali Karthik faced widespread criticism on social media for his on-air comments about the Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Yash Dayal during the IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings on Monday. Dayal ended up conceding five sixes in five balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL – an unwanted feat that had an immense impact on the young cricketer. However, he was picked by RCB for Rs 5 crore in the IPL 2024 auction and talking about this decision, Kartik said, “Someone’s trash is someone’s treasure.” The comment was not received positively by many social media users.

“How can you say that someone’s trash is someone’s treasure? You just called Yash Dayal Trash on air! Like what even? “, posted comedian and TV host Danish Sait on X (formerly Twitter).

Royal Challengers Bangalore took to social media to give a befitting reply to Kartik following his on-air comment.

In the meantime, Virat Kohli exceeded Suresh Raina to become the Indian player with the most catches in the men’s T20 format.

Kohli set the record during the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
