RCB hits back: Murali Kartik’s ‘trash’ remark towards Yash Dayal receives cryptic response | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former Indian left-hand spinner Murali Karthikwho is currently commenting in IPL2024became embroiled in controversy for his remarks on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) stimulator Yash Dayal.
Left-arm pacer Dayal made headlines for all the wrong reasons last year during his stay with the Gujarat Titans. He was hit for five consecutive sixes by Kolkata Knight Riders slugger Rinku Singh.

But this had no bearing on Dayal’s future in the IPL as he was bought by RCB for Rs 5 crore in the IPL 2024 auction. While commentating during the RCB vs Punjab Kings match on Monday , Kartik remarked on the movement saying, ‘someone’s trash is someone’s treasure’.
Kartik attracted a lot of criticism on social media for calling Dayal ‘trash’, and RCB also decided to give a befitting response by posting a three-word message with a photo of Dayal.
“It’s a treasure. Period,” RCB posted on X.

Talking about the match, Virat Kohli’s 77 and a final act from Dinesh Karthik helped RCB beat Punjab Kings by four wickets for their first win of this IPL season on Monday.
Master batsman Kohli smashed 11 fours and two sixes in his 49-ball blitz as hosts Bengaluru chased their victory target of 177 with four balls to spare to bounce back from their defeat in the first match of the lucrative T20 tournament.
Kohli fell to fast bowler Harshal Patel in the 16th over and soon Bengaluru lost another wicket before Karthik (28*) and impact replacement Mahipal Lomror (17*) took the team home in an unbeaten position 48 off 18 balls.
