India captain Rohit Sharma on Thursday became the fifth Indian captain to score 5,000 international runs while leading the team in all formats.

Rohit, who already has over 19,000 runs to his name across all three formats, has now scored 5,013 runs in 122 matches in which he has led India. He reached the milestone by beating England in the semi-final of the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The 37-year-old joins the Virat KohliMS Dhoni, Mohammed Azharuddin and Sourav Ganguly in the exclusive club.

Kohli, who is at the top of the rankings, has scored 12,883 runs in the 213 matches in which he led India. This, to go with another 13,926 points he got while not captaining the side, accounts for a mammoth 26,808 points across all formats.

MS Dhoni is the only other Indian captain to have crossed the five-figure mark in his role. Having led India to three ICC titles, Dhoni leads the charts in terms of matches played by India.
