RR XI vs MI| Rajasthan Royals are expected to play 11 against Mumbai Indians for the 14th match of IPL 2024

Rajasthan Royals (RR) And Mumbai Indians (MI) will face each other in the 14th match of the IPL2024. The two teams have had a contrasting run in the league so far. While RR have won their two matches of the season so far, MI have lost their two league matches so far. The two teams will face each other at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which promises to be a good clash of bat and ball.

This will be the first match in Mumbai during IPL 2024. There will be a dew factor and the toss could be a big factor. Both teams would be eager to win the match. MI has some of the best players in the world in its roster. At the top of the batting order, they have the duo of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma who complement each other well. The left-right duo can succeed in the next matches.

In the middle order, MI has Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, Hardik Pandya, Tim David and many others who can make an impact with the bat. In the bowling unit, MI has excellent bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Gerald Coetzee, Piyush Chawla, Kwena Maphaka, Hardik Pandya and Romaria Shepherd. Besides that, they have good bowlers in the dugout like Nuwan Tushara, Mohammad Nabi and Akash Madhwal. Considering how things went in the last game, RR would be very confident.

Here is RR’s probable XI for the match against MI in IPL 2024, Match 14:

Openings – Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal will continue to open for RR. Both are not in good form and would like to put some points on the board. Buttler has been out of form for a long time. The right-handed hitter hit slowly, which didn’t help either. RR will be hoping to score some points against MI, who happens to be their favorite opponent.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has not fired with the bat in the last two matches. After having a brilliant season for RR in IPL 2023, the youngster was expected to be RR’s best hitter. However, he has yet to play a big game. The youngster will hope to make an impact against MI. The Wankhede Stadium is familiar to the 22-year-old, which must help him get going.

Middle order – Sanju Samson (C&WK), Ryan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer

Sanju Samson will bat at 3 for RR. He will lead RR and also keep wickets. The star hitter won RR’s match against LSG with his batting. He hopes to play a key role against MI. Riyan Parag has been in sublime form with the bat. At number 4, Parag scored 43(29) against LSG and followed it up with a brilliant 84(45) against DC in the last match.

At numbers 5 and 6, Shimron Hetmyer or Dhruv Jurel are likely to strike depending on the scenarios. If there are fewer balls left in the game, Hetmyer will likely bat at 6. If there is a potential scenario where there needs to be someone who can anchor the innings, Jurel would move up the order. Either way, RR has a good option outside of the top four hitters.

Versatile – Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin will be the only all-rounder in the RR line-up. The star player played a key role in his team’s victory against DC. His appearance of 29(19) changed the dynamics of the match. It was his knock that helped Riyan Parag settle in the middle and chase the bowlers later in the innings. Even with the ball, Ashwin bowled a few economical spells which allowed the bowlers at the other end to claim wickets.

Bowlers – Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal and Nandre Burger (Impact substitute)

Trent Boult is the new designated ball thrower for RR. The left-arm pacer can swing the ball early in the innings and wreak havoc. To accompany him with the new ball, it would be Nandre Burger. Very similar to Boult, Burger can swing the ball, but at a good pace. He can also seam the ball and bowl good bouncers at a very good pace. In the middle overs, the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will operate from both ends.

While Ashwin acts as an economical bowler, Chahal is the wicket-taking bowler. The two complement each other well and help RR perform well as a bowling unit with their experience. RR named a bowling duo for the death overs. Avesh Khan and Sandeep Sharma were impressive with their yorkers and wide yorkers. They were able to deliver the goods in both RR matches in the last 4 overs of the match.
