'Sanjiv Goenka asked KL Rahul…': LSG coach Justin Langer reveals what was said after disastrous SSR clash

The storm surrounding Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka's alleged heated conversation with captain KL Rahul refuses to settle with a host of former cricketers expressing disappointment that this is happening in plain sight public. However, LSG coach Justin Langer claimed the conversation between the two was rather “tame” and in the absence of any sound it gave the wrong impression.

“It’s a huge storm in a cup of tea, actually in a cup of espresso,” Langer told The Times of India. “What fascinates me about India is this incredible passion for cricket. Mr. Goenka is no different. I am no different. KL is no different.”

Langer said Goenka had just spoken about what LSG was planning to do next given their plan hasn't worked so far, especially during the IPL 2024 clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad which resulted in to a 10-wicket drubbing.

“Our plan for the match didn't go perfectly. In fact, it was a disaster. After the match, Mr. Goenka entered the field and asked KL, “What happened?” Our plan that we talked about didn't work. What shall we do now?' And then we talked about it. The sound was muted, no one could hear what was being said. It might have seemed quite aggressive, but it was actually quite tame. »

SRH made a mockery of LSG's bowling attack as they chased down 166 in just 9.4 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium for a massive 10-wicket victory.

Subsequently, a post-match clip of Goenka having a heated conversation with skipper Rahul went viral, creating an uproar.

On Monday, LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener had termed the conversation an “intense discussion” among cricket fans when asked what happened.

“I don’t see any problem in a heated discussion between two cricket lovers. For us, it's a storm in a teacup. It’s not a big deal for us,” Klusener said.
