Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Wednesday confirmed that pacer Shivam Mavi has been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 after suffering an injury. LSG released a statement and said that Mavi was part of the Lucknow-based franchise’s pre-season camp before the start of the season.
“Lucknow Super Giants’ Shivam Mavi has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of IPL 2024 due to injury. The talented right-arm fast bowler joined us after the auction in December and has been with the camp ever since pre-season,” LSG said.
He added that the franchise would support the right-arm fast bowler in his recovery process in the coming days.
“He has been a key part of the team for the season, which is why both we and Shivam are disappointed that his season is ending so soon. The franchise will continue to support Shivam and is committed to helping him in his process recovery. “We wish him a quick and complete return, and are sure that he will come back in better shape and stronger,” adds the text.
Currently, LSG sits at the fourth spot in the IPL 2024 table with four points and a net run rate of 0.483. KL Rahul-led LSG had a disappointing start to the season after conceding a 20-run defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR). However, in their next two matches, they registered a victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
