Seven Barcelona stars face suspension for UCL quarter-final second leg against PSG


As Barcelona celebrate their return to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2020, they have been draw against a difficult opponent at PSG in the circle.

Indeed, Xavi Hernandez will face his former manager and mentor, Luis Enrique while the Barça players will face his ex-teammate Ousmane Dembele, who changed teams last summer.

Barcelona and PSG have put on some entertaining Champions League matches over the years and next month’s contests promise to be no different.

Seven players face suspension

Even though the matches are only a few weeks away, impatience is already building and the matches will be hard-fought with players from both sides giving their best.

The first leg will take place at PSG’s home ground, Parc des Princes, before traveling to the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys for the second leg.

And up to seven Barcelona players face being suspended for the second leg.

Indeed, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Frenkie de Jong, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Joao Felix and Sergi Roberto are all suspension risks and will need to be disciplined and cautious in the first leg.

The seven aforementioned stars are currently on two yellow cards in the Champions League. Another warning would result in an automatic one-match suspension, causing them to miss the second leg at Montjuic.

Each of the players on the list is important to Xavi and Barcelona and not having one will be a major cause for concern.

As such, they must approach the first leg in Paris with some caution.
