Suresh Raina deletes social media post on Shahid Afridi. Former Pakistani skipper reveals reason

Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi revealed that he had a conversation with Suresh Raina about his social media post which led to the former Indian cricket team player deleting it. Following the announcement that Afridi would become an ambassador for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, a user from Raina.” Raina was quick to respond, writing: “I'm not an ICC ambassador, but I have the 2011 World Cup at home. Do you remember the match in Mohali? I hope this brings back some unforgettable memories.” Afridi spoke about the post on his Youtube channel and said they had a conversation about it and everything was fine between them.
“Suresh Raina and I have shared many cricketing moments and he is a good person,” Afridi said.

“Sometimes light banter happens. After seeing his post on social media, I spoke to him and he understood the situation like a younger brother. He agreed to delete the tweet. It's okay, these things happen. Grown-ups recognize and correct their mistakes,” he added.

Earlier, Raina took a hilarious dig at Afridi during IPL 2024 while answering a question from Akash Chopra on the comment. Chopra asked Raina if he would consider reversing his retirement decision and Raina jokingly replied, “I'm Suresh Raina, not Shahid Afridi.”

The conversation went viral on social media, leading to mixed reactions from fans.

Afridi joins an illustrious group of ambassadors, including a stalwart of India Yuvraj Singh'Patron of the Universe' Chris Gayle and the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt. Afridi is synonymous with Pakistan's most memorable moments in T20 World Cup history. He played a pivotal role in their run to the final of the inaugural tournament in 2007 and their triumph in the 2009 edition.
