It is learned that Indian head coach Rahul Dravid has expressed his concerns regarding the training facilities at Cantiague Park, New York and ICC has responded that “there have been no complaints or concerns expressed regarding the same.”

India have had their first practice session ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup and it has been reliably learned that coach Rahul Dravid is not happy with the 'average' facilities given to the team at Cantiague Park. Rohit Sharma and Co. met for a net session on Wednesday afternoon and used three of the six pitches available at the makeshift site.

“Everything is improvised – from the locations to the other facilities. It can be said that everything is very average in nature. The team has expressed its concerns,” indicates a source close to the development of the situation.

India will play their only warm-up against Bangladesh on June 1 and will use the facilities at Cantiague Park until then. Even after that, it will be the Men in Blue's only training center as they play three of their four group matches – against Pakistan, USA and Ireland – in New York – before traveling to Florida for the last match against Canada. .

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York does not have training facilities and the modular venue will only be used for matches. The world body has designated Cantiague Park as the teams' official training center and the venue is a good distance from the stadium.

Added to the concerns linked to makeshift installations is the weather, which doesn't help either. There was rain in parts of New York and a storm in Dallas also damaged the T20 World Cup venue.

A temporary giant LED screen located at Grand Prairie Stadium was completely damaged by storms.
