“I just want to tell you that I have seen a lot of great players and you are a great player, I tell you this because it is true. God bless you and I hope you continue to play for the India,” Hall added. while praising the former Indian captain.

Kohli graciously accepted Hall’s book “Answering the Call” and posed for photos with him.

Published in November 2022, ‘Answer the Call’ revolves around Hall’s illustrious cricketing career and his journey to becoming one of the best in history.

Meanwhile, this year he published the second part of the book, which covers Hall’s time as a senator and politician. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma also received Hall’s book.

“I gave three books today. I gave one book to the captain (Rohit Sharma) and another to the coach (Rahul Dravid) and Virat Kohli. All three are great players. It’s good to see people get rewarded. Sometimes you’re a good player and you didn’t deliver. I think they played very well for India,” Hall told ANI.

Virat Kohli’s form is a bit worrying

As for Kohli’s current form, he has not been at his best and failed to perform in the group stage with three single-digit scores – 1.4 and 0, however, India has comfortably made it to the Super 8 stage. The move to promote Kohli at the opening slot has backfired for the Men in Blue, which could force them back to the third spot in the Super 8 as Yashasvi Jaiswal is expected to make it to the XI.

India will next face Afghanistan in their first Super 8 match at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, as this will also be their first match on Caribbean soil in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
