Virender Sehwag calls MS Dhoni ‘buzurg’ despite stunning catch | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: MS Dhoni‘s age-defying catch sent the cricketing world and its fans into a frenzy with the former Super Kings of Chennai skipper demonstrating that he still possesses lightning-fast reflexes and an unprecedented sense of anticipation on the pitch.
During CSK’s clash with Gujarat Titans, Daryl Mitchell delivered a full delivery around the stump to Vijay Shankar. Shankar attempted a straight shot but only managed to edge the ball.

A vintage Dhoni dived to his right and took a spectacular catch, sending Shankar back to the pavilion. Witnessing the veteran’s remarkable effort behind the stumps, the Chepauk crowd erupted in joy.
The match also saw Ajinkya Rahane make a blinder by diving forward to dismiss David Miller.
On CSK’s great defensive effort, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag said Rahane’s catch was brilliant and also acknowledged Dhoni’s, but humorously called it ‘buzurg’.
“Catches win games. Ajinkya Rahane took a good catch and so did Rachin Ravindra. Buzurg (former) MS Dhoni also picked one,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

Rohan Gavaskar, who was also part of the discussion, quickly pointed this out saying, “You didn’t call Rahane a buzurg.”
Sehwag remained adamant on his claims, saying that there is a significant age gap between Rahane and Dhoni.
“Their ages are not the same, there is a difference and Rahane is also fitter than MS Dhoni. There is a big difference between a 35-year-old and a 41-year-old (42). MS is now getting old there. There is no doubt about it,” Sehwag said.
