Age is just a number, and veterans who have played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) prove it every now and then.
However, on Tuesday evening, not once but twice, cricket fans witnessed the veteran’s spectacular efforts, and it was Ajinkya Rahane who hogged the spotlight after a unthinkable diving take from 42 year old MS Dhoni.
Coming to defend 207 in Chennai, CSK had a relatively easy task against Gujarat Titans in the final rematch of last season. Yet their defenders, along with MS Dhoni, did not look relaxed on the field, and the way the 35-year-old Rahane managed to catch David Miller left everyone in awe.
The catch came during the Titans’ 12th over when Miller, batting 21 off 16 balls, tried to play a lob shot against Tushar Deshpande. However, the South African failed to get his timing right while bowling to mid-wicket, and Rahane dove forward with perfection to complete one of the catches of the season.

Meanwhile, CSK are in complete control at the time of writing as the Titans could only manage 110/4 after 14 overs. They must score 97 from 36 balls to achieve a miraculous victory in their own backyard.
