Shadab dismisses Rizwan in PSL final [X.com]

Building on Martin Guptill’s excellent catch in the outfield, Islamabad United skipper Shadab Khan dismissed his Multan Sultans counterpart Mohammad Rizwan in the ongoing PSL 2024 final.

The incident occurred in the tenth over when the skipper went into the attack to break the consolidating position between Rizwan and Usman Khan. His decision paid off as he got Rizwan’s precious scalp in the penultimate delivery of his over.

After conceding six runs in his first four balls, Shadab lured Rizwan for a high shot through a flying delivery outside off stump. Dough, who had already got a lifeline thanks to Naseem’s no ballfell into the trap as he attempted his signature sweep down the leg side.

However, he was unable to connect it properly as the ball remained in the air for a long time. Martin Guptill, known for his incredible defensive skills, covered considerable distance to make a sensational catch.

Shadab was pumped up after getting rid of Rizwan, who looked in the middle. One of them brought two for United, with Imad Wasim dismissing the dangerous Johnson Charles shortly after Rizwan’s departure.

At the time of writing, the Sultans are in a tough spot, reeling at 99 for four in 13.3 overs, with Usman Khan and Khushdil Shah batting on 49* and 2*, respectively.
