“We Sikhs saved your mothers and sisters”: Furious Harbhajan Singh slams Kamran Akmal for racist joke on Arshdeep Singh | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh launched scathing attack on former Pakistani wicket-keeper batter Kamran Akmal for his racial joke about Indian Pacer Arshdeep Singh.
A video of Akmal is doing the rounds on social media in which he is seen reacting to the match on a news channel in Pakistan and making a remark which did not go down well with Harbhajan as he mocked Arshdeep due of his religion.
During Pakistan's 19th innings of batting, when India was on the verge of victory and Arshdeep was preparing to take the final over, Akmal uttered the controversial remark.
“Lakh di laanat tere Kamraan Akhmal.. You should know the history of Sikhs before you open your dirty mouth. We Sikhs saved your mothers and sisters when they were kidnapped by invaders, it was invariably noon. Shame on you…Have some gratitude @KamiAkmal23,” Harbhajan posted on X.

Akmal's comment sparked outrage among fans and cricket enthusiasts, who condemned his inappropriate attempt at humor. The reaction was swift and widespread, with many expressing disappointment and anger at the former player's insensitive remark.

Talking about their match, the Indian bowlers, led by an outstanding Jasprit Bumrah, gave a collective masterclass, propelling their team to a thrilling six-run win over Pakistan in a low-scoring match on Sunday.
Bumrah (3/14) and Hardik Pandya (2/24) were outstanding, giving nothing away while defending a modest total of 120, as India restricted Pakistan to 113 for seven.
Earlier, pacers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir presented brilliant spells, helping Pakistan bowl out India for 119 after some rain interruptions.
